General Description
We will work with scenes and each student will be able to work on their lighting techniques in each environment,
generating videos and cinematographic images. We will work with real-time lighting like Lumen and we will also use
Path tracing. The projects will be available for testing and at the end of the course the students will have pieces for their
portfolio to facilitate their entry or improvement of position in the VFX industry. We will work on scenes like Spiderman,
Star Wars, Batman, Mandalorian, Antman, Pinocchio.
At the end of this training, each student will be presenting, justifying the techniques used in their projects, and what
decisions were made for the final result.
Target Audience
Professionals in the fields of animation, video games or architecture, intrigued by Unreal and wanting to learn the basics.

The training is offered online
Although the instructor will teach remotely, the participants can take the classes onsite at the School (headphones with a microphone will be required) or remotely via a web link with access to a virtual workstation.

About the instructor
Bell Rodrigo de Deus
Bell Rodrigo started his career as an architect. After 20 years he migrated to the VFX industry, working in studios such as DNEG, MPC, and Pixomondo, providing services in several countries, focusing on photorealistic environments and lighting. Passionate about what he does and loving to share his knowledge, he currently works in the automotive industry creating fantastic scenarios for super modern cars. Additionally, he decided to share his knowledge of 25 years of experience using Real-time software (Unreal Engine).

Lumen Overview
Indiana Jones/ Mandalorian scene
Lighting studies inside an external setting with rendering in
Movie Queue and cinematographic camera.
Use of directional light, Skylight, SkyAtmosphere or HDRI,
creation of sky and clouds, Skies HDR, etc.

How to make all these elements work together to achieve
